Genesis 3:19 You will eat food by the sweat of your brow
until you’re buried int the ground,
because you were taken from it.
You’re made from dust
and you’ll return to dust.”
Physical death that the human beings experience today is as a result of
disobeying God. Because man fell into sin as the Bible tells us in the
first book Genesis Chapter 3, physical death is among the penalties that
God bestowed upon humanity.
Now apart from physical death, every human being is also dead Spiritually as we see in the Bible from Ephesians Chapter two:
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
Spiritual death and physical death both haunt human beings. The worst is that man is a slave to the disobedience which the Bible calls sin. Every sinner is dead Spiritually and upon his physical death, without finding God's forgiveness he will die eternally and dwell far away from God burning in hell fire for the penalty of his disobedience.
But God gave a promise to forgive all human beings of their sins. He did send His one begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He died on the cross, was buried and He resurrected from the dead. He now reigns at the right hand of God in Heaven. For all who turn away from their sins/ disobedience and trust in Jesus Christ, they find peace with God and are Spiritually brought to life. Upon their physical death, they will be resurrected again and will not go to hell on account of Jesus Christ, but will dwell with God in happiness forever.
Turn away from sins and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and you will overcome physical death and reign with God forever.
